TANYARUT BOONTHEEKUL
Tanyarut has a first-class honors in Chemical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University and a Ph.D. in Chemical engineering from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. During her Ph.D. training, her research focused in the biotechnology area, specifically in tissue engineering and protein delivery, which involves multidisciplinary areas of biology, engineering, chemistry, and material sciences. This research resulted in an invention on scaffolds for skeletal muscle transplantation. A patent for this invention was filed with the US Patent Office(Publication no. US2008/0044900 A1).
Upon her graduation, Tanyarut joined the R&D department in Thailand petrochemical private sector as a researcher. She has also worked for Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, A-STAR, Singapore as a research scientist in biomedical device and protein delivery group.
At Axis, Tanyarut is involved in patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments, and licensing transactions. In addition, Tanyarut works on patent filing, translation, and helps promote intellectual property awareness in Thailand, including organizing IP seminars in collaboration with Thai government agencies.
