The Licensing and Transactions Group consists of members with previous industry and R&D experience and legal qualifications (LLB).

As patent attorneys, we work closely with inventors to identify and protect their inventions in many engineering, scientific and computer fields for obtaining the strongest and broadest possible protection. We appreciate the value of patents and can assist clients with intellectual property licensing and transactions through our licensing programs.

One such program involves us working with large organizations, such as Honeywell, to license out their patents and brands by sourcing and qualifying prospective licensees. Another program helps our clients develop patents as an investment. Here, we source for inventions from research universities and institutions in Singapore, Thailand and other nearby countries. Our clients can then license in or acquire these inventions so that patents can be developed for subsequent monetization or capitalisation. We can assist such clients because of our patenting and licensing expertise, as well as our familiarity with research universities and institutions in this region.

We work closely with these universities and institutions to promote patent development and encourage and identify patentable research for licensing purposes. Furthermore, as we have previous experience working in and with university Technology Licensing Offices (TLOs), we are also able to handle transactional work, including contract drafting and negotiations.
