Detection Apparatus And Method For Specific Diagnosis Of Pythium insidiosum
Short Description
The technology provides a method of detecting the fungal-like pathogen, Pythium insidiosum (P. insidiosum). P. insidiosum causes a life-threatening disease known as pythiosis in human and animals and the disease is characterised by cutaneous and subcutaneous lesions. Most individuals suffering from pythiosis die as a result of late diagnosis of the disease. Hence, this technology is important as it reduces the problem of late diagnosis of pythiosis.
Application
The technology can be used as a diagnostic tool for diagnosing pythiosis in individuals.
