GOPALAKRISHNAN R.

Gopal obtained a First Class Distinction degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bharathiar University, India.  Upon graduation, Gopal worked in the design department of Soliton Technologies, a leading Test & Measurement equipment builder in India. Gopal was exposed to the areas of automation, mechatronics, instrumentation and machine vision during his 3 year tenure here.

Gopal also has a Masters Degree in Product Development, which was jointly conferred by the National University of Singapore and Technical University of Eindhoven, Netherlands. During the course of his Masters, the design and development project that Gopal was involved in resulted in an invention of an automated shopping device for implementation at the point of sale in supermarkets, using RFID technology. During the second year of Masters, Gopal was involved in an R&D project in a large semiconductor equipment manufacturer in Singapore. The R&D project focussed on development of alternate techniques for IC singulation using state of the art lasers.

He has also completed his Graduate Certification in Intellectual Property Law from the National University of Singapore. Prior to joining Axis, Gopal worked as a trainee patent agent in Rodyk & Davidson LLP, Singapore for a period of 4 years. Gopal is in the process of qualifying as a patent agent in Singapore.
