FOO MOO KWANG
Moo Kwang founded Axis Singapore in 2001. As managing partner at Axis Singapore, Moo Kwang oversees all practice matters and IP work , including registration, management and capitalization of IP. In 2005, he founded Axis Thailand, thereby extending the reach of Axis further into Asia. To ensure that all regional clients receive an equivalently outstanding degree of commitment and professionalism, Moo Kwang also manages Axis Thailand. In 2009, he co-founded Axis Japan to bring Axis to North Asia.
As an experienced and qualified IP practitioner, Moo Kwang handles a diverse range of patents including mechanical, electronic, electrical, semi-conductor, computer, software, communication, business method and multi-discipline patents, as well as trademarks and registered designs. He also assists clients in licensing and transactions of IP.
Prior to joining the IP profession, Moo Kwang has extensive technical experience in industry. He held practicing research and development positions in a number of prominent private sector companies, such as Philips and Creative Technologies. His technical knowledge and working experience in industry serve as a solid foundation in enabling him to provide sound commercial advice to clients in the licensing and transaction of IP.
Moo Kwang has many years of valuable experience in the field of IP, drafting and prosecuting patents in the science and engineering fields in major jurisdictions. He was an Assistant Director managing and transacting IP assets at the National University of Singapore, and also practiced as an Associate Patent Agent for Lloyd Wise, a Lead IP Associate for the Asia Pacific IP Office of Hewlett Packard, and a Patent Agent in Spruson & Ferguson.
Besides dedicating himself to the IP profession, Moo Kwang also contributes to the training and development of expectant IP professionals by acting as a mentor and providing practical guidance to patent agent trainees. Moo Kwang is currently an adjunct lecturer at the National University of Singapore. He lectures on intellectual capital management and IP rights to engineering undergraduates.
